SRINAGAR/NEW DELHI:  Four days after reaching a near dead-end on the Jammu and Kashmir government formation talks with the BJP, PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti reached New Delhi on Monday to hold talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and senior BJP leaders, suggesting that a government could be formed in the State.

“She’s likely to meet the PM tomorrow. If the meeting takes place, the deal will be struck and the parties may issue a joint statement,” PDP sources said, adding the Centre has shown inclination to accept some of Mehbooba’s demands, if not all. The decision on government formation could be made this week as PDP will hold a meeting of its legislators on Thursday.
