NEW DELHI: A day after the NDA government completed two years, the official website of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s office went multilingual, with access being given to six languages including Tamil and Telugu and Malayalam to increase its access to people.

The website was inaugurated by External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj here on Sunday. The website – www.pmindia.gov.in –  has been made available in regional languages Bengali, Gujarati, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil and Telugu in addition to English and Hindi. Inaugurating the website, Sushma said the initiative is a part of the on-going efforts of the Prime Minister to reach out to the people and communicate with them in their own language.

The minister further said that other regional language versions of the website will be introduced  in a phased manner.

“I thank all those who have worked tirelessly in the creation of the new versions of @PMOIndia site in various languages. Thanks to @SushmaSwaraj ji for launching @PMOIndia site in 6 languages....These sites will further strengthen my interaction with you all,” Modi tweeted.
