AIZAWL: Four children including three girls drowned today in a turbulent stream near Electric Veng locality in Aizawl, the police said. Lalpekhlui (10), Linda Lalhlimpuii (9), Lalpekkimi (4) and Danny Lalhriatpuia (11) were drowned by a flash flood during heavy downpour this evening while playing in a stream called 'Theihailui', the police said.
Danny Lalhriatpuia, the elder brother of Lalpekkimi was rescued from the swirling waters, the police said, adding the body of Linda Lalhlimpuii was recovered downstream, while a search was on to recover the bodies of other three children.
