NEW DELHI: In her first public interaction two months after she fell ill, Sonia Gandhi was back in action today with the Congress President meeting visiting Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe here.

69-year-old Gandhi was accompanied by former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and senior party leader Anand Sharma during her meeting.

Gandhi's left hand was still in the sling after she had suffered a shoulder injury. The Congress President had suddenly taken ill on August 2 during her roadshow in Varanasi.

During the interaction, the visiting leader informed Gandhi about the initiative being taken for drafting of a new Constitution and measures for devolution of powers for meeting legitimate aspirations of Sri Lankan Tamils as per the 13th Amendment.

Sources said that Gandhi expressed concern over regional security and stability.

On the SAARC summit, the Sri Lankan Prime Minister said that it could be held in a conducive atmosphere which is not there at present.
