BENGALURU: India on Friday conveyed its readiness to help Pakistan in eradicating terrorism if the neighboring country cannot fight terrorism on its own.

Addressing a BJP rally after inducting ex-IAS offiicer K Shivaram into the party, at National College grounds on Friday evening, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said, "We are not against people of Pakistan. We are only against their terrorists."

Referring to international isolation of Pakistan after the Uri attack, Rajnath said the surgical strikes by India after 18 Indian soldiers were martyred in the Uri attack has conveyed a strong message that India would not tolerate such acts of terrorism any more and it would be hit back strongly.

Reiterating India's interest to have cordial relations with Pakistan, Rajnath Singh said "Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharrif was invited for the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Modi. We extended our hand of friendship and they took undue advantage of us."

India has no animosity towards people of Pakistan, India only wants to fight Pakistani terrorists and root out terrorism. If it is proving difficult for Pakistan to fight against its terrorists on its own, then it can take India's help. "We are ready to help them root out terrorism," Rajnath declared. "India is no longer a weak country and we have today sent out a message to the entire world that we are strong, he added
