MUMBAI: Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray’s planned meeting with rebel Goa RSS leader Subhash Velingkar was postponed after his chartered flight was denied landing permission, sources here said on Friday.
Thackeray’s three-day tour was deferred by a week as the movement of private chartered flights to and from the Goa airport has been restricted due to security concerns on the backdrop of the BRICS summit, Goa Shiv Sena president Sudip Tamhankar told Express.
“Thackeray’s Goa tour was to begin on Friday. Now it will start next week on October 22,” he said.
As the trip was postponed, the Sena chief would now be in Goa on October 22 and 23.
“He would address a rally of party workers at Parvari near Panjim, interview prospective party candidates and will also hold talks with
Goa Suraksha Manch,” the Goa Sena president added.
Goa Suraksha Manch is the political platform floated by the rebel Goa Sangh leader, Velingkar.
