Pakistani troops violate ceasefire, heavy shelling along border

There have been 30 ceasefire violations by Pakistani troops along LoC in J&K after surgical strikes on terror launch pads in PoK.

JAMMU: Pakistani troops heavily shelled areas along the LoC in Rajouri district overnight, prompting Indian troops to give a befitting reply. 

Indian and Pakistani troops exchanged fire for past over 15 hours in this sector. 

"The small arms and automatic weapons firing is on along LoC in Bhimber Gali sector of Rajouri this morning", a Defence Spokesman said, adding, "our troops are responding appropriately and giving befitting reply". 

There was heavy mortar shelling overnight and it ended 0330 hours, the spokesman said, adding the unprovoked ceasefire violation by Pakistan started in Bhimber Gali (BG) Sector from 1630 hours yesterday.

Pakistani troops used small arms, automatic weapons and 82 mm mortars bombs in targeting Indian positions, he said.
