NEW DELHI: Following debacle in MCD polls, AAP leader Kumar Vishwas has launched an offensive against party convener and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal calling for radical measures in the party including a possible change in leadership.

Kumar Vishwas said that that the party did not lose the elections because of EVMs. “People did not vote for us in enough number. There is mistrust among the people for us,” he said while talking to a news channel on Friday.

AAP leaders including Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia made an issue of the functioning of EVMs holding it responsible for poor performances in elections. However, unlike many leaders Kumar Vishwas said that blaming EVMs is not good. “That can be a factor but we failed to reach out to the voters and volunteers,” he added.

The AAP leader also blamed the loss in Punjab Assembly election on the wrong decision made by the AAP.  He said that ticket distribution was wrong. “People from the Congress and the Akali were given tickets. Many decisions were taken inside closed door,” he added. AAP performed poorly in Punjab and Goa. While in Punjab it could get only 20 seats out of 117, in Goa, the party had failed to open account.

Kumar Vishwas who is not actively involved in the party works has said that Arvind Kejriwal's stand on surgical strike was wrong. He said that Kejriwal “should not have attacked the Prime Minister over surgical strike.”
