NEW DELHI: Back from his holiday, Rahul Gandhi was seamlessly back to Modi-bashing (for ‘note ban’) with popular lines lifted from old an Bachchan blockbuster, Natwarlal, and a message to his party workers and the media — “Daro maat”.

“Achhe din will come only when the Congress returns to power,’’ he said, in a rehortical twist to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 2014 campaign slogan. It seemed he was alluding to the 2019 parliamentary polls.

The Talkatora Stadium in Delhi packed to capacity with the Congress party leaders and workers from the states to the district level was enough to charge up the Congress Vice President, raring to take over the reins from the absent Congress president, his mother Sonia Gandhi.
