NEW DELHI: A day after the arrest of Sunil Rastogi, an alleged serial rapist, more victims' families have come forward to file complaints against the accused. According to the police, so far they have got evidences of attempt of molestation and sexual assault in eight cases and are expecting this figure to rise.
Victims' families whose daughters were targeted by Sunil claimed that he used to target girls during the day especially after 2pm. According to families, they were aware since December that a man roamed the area, luring schoolgirls but no one informed the cops. New Ashok Nagar area is situated in East
Delhi housing factory workers from Noida.

“In December, my 11-year-old daughter said that a man, asked her name and asked her to come along. Sunil told her that he had to deliver some dresses given for stitching. When he took her into a dark
room she ran away. Now, I will also official inform the police,” Suresh (name changed), father of a victim, said.

“Families who have daughters are mostly aware that a man tries to lure girls to molest them. But no one files any complaint. Most thought of the hearsay as rumours, but when he was caught, more people came out to complain. Ashok Nagar is aware of him and in panic as he targeted hundreds of schoolgirls,” Suresh said.

A day after Suresh’s daughter was targeted the rapist allegedly targeted another girl. A mother of another 13-year-old victim said that Sunil tried to lure her daughter in December, but she refused after noticing a weapon, probably a knife, in his hand. “He targeted her when she was out to buy some groceries. He asked her to come with him so that he could hand over clothes ordered by her father. But, she noticed a weapon and immediately ran. After the incident, we didn’t allow her out alone, but didn’t file any complaint,” Sunita(name changed), the victim’s mother, said. Meanwhile, Sunil Rastogi was sent to 14 days' judicial custody by a Delhi court on Monday.
