JAIPUR: Seventeen people were on Friday killed when their jeep rammed a truck in Rajasthan's Hanumangarh district, police said.
The incident took place in the morning, about 16-17 km from Hanumangarh town on the Rawatsar-Hanumangarh mega-highway. The jeep was on its way to a nearby town with the passengers.
"Almost all the passengers in the jeep died on the spot," a police officer told agencies.
The injured has been rushed to a government hospital, while the bodies of the victims have been shifted to a hospital where the post-mortem is underway, station house officer Anwar Khan said.
An investigation has been ordered into the incident.
