Heroin haul from West Bengal's Murshidabad district

BERHAMPUR: In the second haul within four days, heroin weighing 1.4 kg and valued at an estimated Rupees 1.5 crore was seized from a village at Lalgola in West Bengal's Murshidabad district, a senior police official said today.     

The seizure was made at Dewansarai village under Lalgola police station last night and four arrests have been made, Superintendent of Police Sri Mukesh said.        

Heroin manufacturing equipment was also seized, the SP said adding that those arrested were residents of the village.     

He said those involved in the trade would procure the heroin from across the border and process it in the village.        

Four days earlier, 400 gm heroin estimated at around Rs 50 lakh and heroin manufacturing material was seized from the same village, the SP said.
