10:15 am: Union Minister Manoj Sinha emerges as the latest candidate but plays down any such news saying, “Naa mujhe kisi race kaa pata hai, naa main kisi race main hun (neither do I know about any race nor am I in any race).”

11:05 am: Keshav Prasad Maurya arrives at BJP President Amit Shah’s house for a meeting

11:25 am: Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu arrives in Lucknow. Home Minister Rajnath Singh’s son, Pankaj Singh, who won from Noida, also arrives

11:40 am: Another front-runner for the CM post, Yogi Adityanath, falls behind in the race. His supporters demand his appointment as the new Chief Minister

1:00 pm:  Union Minister Manoj Sinha denies being in race
