Three ex-wives foil man’s fourth marriage attempt

All the three were divorced by the man through Triple Talaq as he was contemplating to enter wedlock again.

LUCKNOW: A man’s plan to marry for the fourth time was nixed by his first three wives who approached the police against him with their woes recently in Bahraich district of Uttar Pradesh.

All the three were divorced by the man through Triple Talaq as he was contemplating to enter wedlock again.

According to local police sources, the wives also accused the man named Danish, 29, of making their obscene Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS), blackmailing them and raping a minor as well.

The three women from Kanungopura mohallah of Kotwali city area in Bahraich, accompanied by their parents, approached additional superintendent of police, Dinesh Tripathi, two days ago to lodge a complaint against Danish. According to their complaint, Danish had married for the first time in 2013 and allegedly made an MMS of his then wife.

As per the police version, after a dispute between Danish and his first wife erupted, he allegedly started blackmailing her and her family members by making an MMS and threatened to make it public in a bid to extort money.

However, sources said that Danish used to oblige his friends by sending them the MMS of his wife in lieu of money. When his wife opposed, Danish handed her the Triple Talaq and forced her out of the house. Subsequently, he married for the second time.

Later, Danish started harassing his second wife for dowry and finally divorced her after a year  of marriage, said the FIR lodged against the man.

According to the police sources, the accused Danish went to one of his relatives’ home in October last year where he raped his minor cousin and later married her. She was also tortured by him for money and divorced eventually.

Danish also made an MMS of his third wife and threatened her parents of going public with it if they protested, the police said adding that now the man was planning to marry for the fourth time and that too a minor.

After the three estranged wives got a whiff of his plan, they petitioned the ASP and narrated their woes.
Subsequently, the police on the basis of the statement of all the three wives of Danish lodged an FIR against him and booked him under the POCSO (Protection of Children against Sexual Offence) Act and other sections of the Indian Penal Code. “A probe is underway into the matter and efforts are being made to nab the man soon,” said Tripathi.
