UP: Seven dead, six injured in car crash near Rampur

Seven people were killed and six fatally injured as a car rammed into a track near Rampur in the early hours of Friday.  

RAMPUR: Seven people were killed and six fatally injured as a car rammed into a track near Rampur in the early hours of Friday.  

The incident took place on the Delhi-Lucknow national highway, near the accident-prone Mansoorpur bypass. The victims were returning from a wedding when the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a truck.

According to Rampur Superintendent of Police K.K. Chaudhary, the locals assisted the police in shifting the injured to a district hospital in Meerut where they were attended to by a team of doctors.

In the aftermath of this unfortunate incident, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Baldev Singh Aulakh visited the families of the bereaved in the hospital.

Aulakh said the state government was informed of the incident, adding that a compensatory measure would soon be taken.
