Six killed, 14 injured as jeep collides with truck in Madhya Pradesh

Six people, including a woman, were killed and 14 injured when a jeep collided with a truck on National Highway 69 at Itarsi area.

HOSHANGABAD: Six people, including a woman, were today killed and 14 injured when a jeep collided with a truck on National Highway 69 at Itarsi area here, the police said.

District Superintendent of Police Arvind Saxena said the overloaded jeep collided head-on with the truck near Rasalpur village, around 12 km from the district headquarters.

Six people, including the jeep driver, died on the spot. The injured have been admitted to different hospitals, he said.

Initial probe revealed that the deceased were from Bondri village of Betul district in the state, the police said, adding the truck has been impounded and a hunt has been launched to nab its driver.
