NEW DELHI: The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) today said 'love jihad' is a "big threat" to national security and that the "secular brigade" should not put a veil over wrong deeds of the jihadis.

In a statement, VHP international general secretary Surendra Jain said that while the whole world is contemplating how to tackle the 'love jihad' conspiracy, which is known as 'Romeo Jihad' in the West, in India the "so-called secular brigade is in denial mode and defending these jihadis".

Jain's statement came after objections were raised to the organisation distributing a pamphlet warning Hindu girls against 'love jihad' during the Hindu Spiritual and Service Fair in Jaipur.

He said that if 'love jihad' continued, it would be a threat to peaceful co-existence among various communities.
