Large turnout at Rahul Gandhi's 'Janata Darshan' in Amethi

AMETHI: Hundreds of people from across Amethi turned up at a 'Janata Darshan' held by Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi here on Thursday, the second day of his visit to his parliamentary constituency.

On Wednesday, Gandhi held a 'Kisan Chaupal' and accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of destroying the fabric of the country and asked him to step down and make way for the Congress. "We will fix things for the people in six months," he had said.

Long queues were seen outside the Munshiganj guest house where the Congress leader is staying, as people eagerly waited for their turn to meet their Lok Sabha MP.

People voiced happiness at meeting Gandhi and said they were hopeful their problems would be addressed.

Rahul Gandhi is visiting his constituency after more than seven months. 

Later in the day, Rahul Gandhi is to meet party workers at the Rajiv Gandhi college in Tiloi after which he is scheduled to travel to Rae Bareli, his mother and Congress president Sonia Gandhi's parliamentary constituency.
