CHANDIGARH: Haryana Police on Monday released the list of 43 persons 'wanted' in connection with incidents of violence on August 25 and Dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim’s adopted daughter Honeypreet Kaur tops the list followed by Dera spokesperson Aditya Insan.  The photos of 43 persons on the 'wanted' list have been posted on the official web portal of Haryana Police, the police said.

The list was released after the police scrutinized the video footages and photographs of the Dera violence that were obtained from news channels and CCTV cameras that broke out in Panchkula and Sirsa following Dera chief’s conviction under rape charges. The police have not been able to identify most of these accused by name so far.

In a separate development, the Special Investigating Team (SIT) of Haryana Police on Monday interrogated Dera Sacha Sauda chairperson Vipassana Insan in connection with the violence in Panchkula and Sirsa following Dera chief’s conviction.

According to police sources, Vipassana was quizzed about the Dera violence in Sirsa following the conviction by Dabwali DSP Kuldeep Beniwal at the HUDA police post in Sirsa. She was asked about the 85 cartons of explosives seized from the Dera headquarters during the search operations and also about the luxury SUV of the Dera which was burnt by its driver near Phoolkan village near Sirsa.

Sources revealed that the investigating team also inquired about alleged tampering of hard discs at the HQ before the search operations began.

Honeypreet Kaur, whose real name is Priyanka Taneja had accompanied the Dera chief from the Dera headquarters’ in Sirsa to the CBI special court in Panchkula.

Honeypreet, the only woman in the ‘wanted’ list, is wanted on charges of sedition in connection with an alleged conspiracy to help Ram Rahim escape after his conviction on August 25th.

The other accused Aditya Insaan was last seen in Panchkula minutes before the violence broke out. He has been booked with four other Dera functionaries on charges of sedition.

The Haryana Police made several arrests after violence broke out in Panchkula that includes Dera Sacha Sauda chief’s top aide and spokesperson Dilawar Insan, who was arrested from Sonepat, on September 15.
