Two godowns gutted in major blaze in Mumbai

Eight fire engines and water tankers have been mobilised to douse the blaze.

MUMBAI: Two garments godowns were today gutted in a major fire in suburban Kurla in Mumbai, a Fire official said.

No casualty is reported in the mishap so far and efforts are on to put out the flames.

The godowns are located in a ground plus three structure in Gulab Shah market in Kurla (west).

Eight fire engines and water tankers have been mobilised to douse the blaze.

"Our fire brigade control got information about the blaze in a shop at 9. 18 PM, following which fire brigade personnel and fire fighting teams were rushed to the spot," said Mumbai fire brigade chief said P S Rahangdale.

He said the fire was confined to the godowns.

The exact cause of the blaze cannot be known immediately.
