RAIPUR: In a bizarre turn of events, a man killed his wife in a fit of rage on Friday night after she suggested that he arrange someone else to fulfil her sexual needs and take payment for it if he were unable to fulfil her in bed. Sanjay Rajak, a driver from  Bilaspur, has told the police that his wife, who worked in a local school, constantly badgered him for sex and kept complaining that she “repeatedly remained unfulfilled”. On Friday, when he refused her sex on the pretext of being stressed out, she put forward the outrageous proposal, provoking him to beat her up with a wooden stick and suffocate her to death with a pillow.

Rajak, who surrendered before the police on Saturday out of apparent guilt and love for his dead wife Shruti, confessed as much, police sources said. The driver, who has been remanded in judicial custody for 14 days, claimed his wife’s “unusually high desire for sex” had been the cause of constant bickering and discord between them, the police said.“Rajak was faced with excessive demands for sex. On Friday, after he returned home from work, his wife demanded sex as usual. He rebuffed her, saying he was not in the mood. She then suggested that he arrange someone else to meet her sexual needs and take money for it. Infuriated, he killed her and hid the body in the kitchen,” deputy superintendent of police Nasar Siddiqui told The New Indian Express.

Rajak and Shruti, both in their early thirties, married five years ago and have a four-year-old daughter. “Her suggestion about another man was too much for him to bear,” he said.Kabir Mehrotra, a psychotherapist, said, “In such cases, the couple must communicate about sex and understand each other’s needs and feelings.”
