Now 4-year-girl raped by relative in Madhya Pradesh, accused held

BHOPAL: Five days after a seven years old school girl was kidnapped from her school and gang raped in Mandsaur district, yet another chilling episode of a minor's rape has been reported in Madhya Pradesh.

The latest spine-chilling incident has been reported from Satna district (450 km from Bhopal) where a four years old girl was allegedly assaulted sexually by her relative on Sunday late night.

The incident which happened in Panna village of Unchehra police station area was reported to the police on Monday early morning. The accused Mahendra (23) was also caught hold by the girl's kin and neighbours and handed over to police on Monday.

The girl has been hospitalised and is stated out of danger, while the arrested accused has been booked for sexual assault, besides under provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012, SP of Satna district Rajesh Hingankar told The New Indian Express.

The accused is the minor's relative and lives nearby.

Off late rape of minors have been on the rise in MP, which reported maximum rape cases in India during 2016, as revealed by the latest National Crime Record Bureau (NCRB) data on Crime in India.

While a Class III student seven years old girl was kidnapped from school in Mandsaur and gang raped by two men on June 26, a nine years old girl was raped in Shadol district and a six years old girl was raped and then brutally murdered in Gwalior district prior to it.
