Militants kill abducted policeman in Kashmir

SRINAGAR: Militants have killed the Jammu and Kashmir policeman, whom they had abducted from Vehil village of south Kashmir’s Shopian district last evening.

A police official said bullet-ridden body of the policeman Javaid Ahmad Dar son of Abdul Hamid Dar R/o Vehil village of Shopian was recovered today morning from Pariwan village of neighbouring Kulgam district.

Sources said the policeman was tortured by his abductors before being shot dead.

27-year-old Javaid was abducted by militants from a medical shop in the native village late last evening.

Javaid, according to police sources, was on leave. He was guard of former SP Shopian, Shailendra Mishra.

Police, CRPF and army men have launched a manhunt to track down the assailants of the deceased policeman.
