NEW DELHI: Uzbekistan will start issuing electronic visas to citizens of 51 countries, including India, from July 15, 2018. The single-entry visas will be issued for a period of 30 days and will be valid for 90 days from the date of issuance. The time for consideration of applications for registration and issuance of an electronic visa is two working days, excluding the day the application is filed with a processing fee of US $20.

The visa will be sent to the e-mail address of the applicant as submitted when applying through the official web portal. The portal provides information on the visa status on the basis of a unique identification number.

Also, from July 15, 2018, the five-day visa-free transit procedure will take effect for citizens of 101 countries, including India, at Uzbek airports, provided they hold an air ticket to a third country.

Foreign citizens aged under 16 and holding an international passport or a biometric travel document and accompanied by their legal representatives, may enter and stay in Uzbekistan for the valid period of the entry visa of the accompanying person.

Should foreign citizens reach the age of 16 during their stay in Uzbekistan, an exit visa shall be issued by the migration and citizenship registration offices.
