NEW DELHI: The BJP today said an internal letter purportedly of CPI (Maoists) pointed to funding received by the proscribed outfit from Congress to "stop the Modi juggernaut" in next year's Lok sabha polls by spreading "chaos" in the country.

BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra told a press conference that the document has "exposed" the Congress like never before and has striped it of "every cloth of modesty".

Quoting from the letter, Patra said it proved that Dalits were being used as a tool in the Bhima-Koregaon violence in Maharasthra around the New Year and that protests were not spontaneous but a "manufactured" agitation.

Reading from the letter allegedly written by a member of the banned outfit to another affiliated person, he said it talks about the funding they have received from the Congress to "spread chaos" in the country to "stop the Modi juggernaut" in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

"While the BJP believes in 'Sampark for Samarthan' (contact for support) the Congress believes in sparking chaos to grab power," Patra said, adding he wondered if the "alliance" between the opposition party and the Maoists is the new alliance it has been talking about.

"The real face of the Congress has been exposed. Silence is not the answer. It is a serious allegation," Patra said, demanding that Congress president Rahul Gandhi explain his party's role in the matter.

"This letter is not just a letter, it strips every cloth of modesty the Congress was trying to wear," he said.

"The Congress is saying that we will give you as much fund as you want but spread as much as anarchy as you can," he alleged.

Patra said the ultra Left outfits involved in the violence were named by the UPA government as being among the proscribed organisation and alleged that the Congress is now supporting them in its hunger for power.

Pune police has arrested some Maoists for their alleged role in the Bhima-Koregaon violence.

Asked where he got the letter from, Patra said "we have drawn it from the pool in media".
