NEW DELHI: Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal fell for fake news on social media that the Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal had attended a meeting of Niti Ayog held in the capital on Sunday. The Niti Ayog CEO Amitabh Kant, however, was quick to point out that Kejriwal’s accusation against the LG was wrong.

“This is totally incorrect. Lt. Governor of Delhi is not present at the Fourth Meeting of the Governing Council of NITI Ayog,” Kant tweeted, quoting Kejriwal’s post.

The post Delhi CM quoted to make the accusation is no longer available on the social media site as well.

Kejriwal tweeted: “Under which provision of the Constitution does LG have powers to replace the Chief Minister? I have not authorised him to go in my place.”

Delhi CM and three of his ministers have been sitting at LG’s office since Monday. They have refused to leave until LG orders bureaucrats posted in Delhi government to withdraw their “strike”.
