Rajasthan's Kota set up a new Guinness world record on International Yoga Day

A team of Guinness world record had arrived in the city from London to Observe and certify this event. People started gathering at yoga spot early morning.

KOTA: Rajasthan's education city Kota turned into Yoga city when over one Lakh people performed yoga at one place at a time and created a new Guinness World Record on International Yoga day today. Yog Guru Baba Ramdev and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje lead this mega even at city's RAC ground.

A team of Guinness world record had arrived in the city from London to Observe and certify this event. People started gathering at yoga spot early morning.

Eight entrance gates were made for the entry and each entrant was given a barcode for counting the exact number of people entering the ground. On record 1 Lakh 5000 people entered the ground through barcode officially on time to perform the event.

A certificate was awarded on the spot by Guinness record Team from London to Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje and Kota Collector in the presence of Yog Guru Baba Ramdev. Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje congratulated all the participants for creating Guinness world record She announced, "Yoga parks will be opened in all districts of Rajasthan and Government will support Baba Ramdev's Acharyakulam project in Kota to impart yoga and values".

Many Minister's of Raje's Cabinet, Party MLA's and Govt. officials also performed yoga here.

Observers who had come from Guinness world record London recorded the event since 6:30 AM in the morning. Yoga session to create world record was set for half hour between 6:30 AM to 7 AM where yog guru made participants to performs all his popular yoga postures. Guinness Book will provide a web link where after entering their code no participants can generate their own certificate of the record.

Kota is known as coaching hub for competitive exams and students who come here from various part of the country to take coaching performed yoga and were here in maximum numbers.

Kota is famous for highest no of selections in Engineering and Medical competitive exam for its coaching centers but in recent past, it is in limelight due to rising number students suicides there mainly due to depression and Stress.

On the third International Yoga Day, 55000 people of Mysore had set a record by performing yoga at one place at the same time which was broken here in Kota.
