Exams postponed in Kashmir

The 12th standard examination has been postponed in Kashmir valley which were scheduled to be conducted on Monday.

SRINAGAR: The Board of School Education (BOSE), Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) and Kashmir University (KU) have postponed examinations, while the Central University Kashmir (CUK) rescheduled the seminar which was to be held on Monday.

According to a spokesman for the BOSE, 12th standard examination has been postponed in Kashmir valley which were scheduled to be conducted on Monday.

However, examinations in Leh, Kargil and winter zones of Jammu division will be held as per schedule, he said.

The KU postponed BG Ist semester examination today.

The examination will now be held on October 2, a spokesman of the university said adding all other examinations will be held as per the schedule.

The IUST has also postponed all examinations which were scheduled to be held today.

New dates for the examination will be announced later.

Meanwhile, the CUK has also postponed a seminar which was scheduled to be held at Nowgam campus of the university today.

Though no reason was given for postponing of examination, the step has been taken as a precautionary measure following strike called by separatists against the killing of civilians in a blast in Kulgam, where three Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) militants were killed in an encounter by security forces at Laroo on Sunday.
