BHOPAL: The war of spoof videos continues to dominate the social media space in assembly poll-bound Madhya Pradesh. The latest video, which is a morphed video of one of the episodes of tele-serial Mahabharat, shows chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan as Dushasan (the second among the 100 Kaurav brothers) and MP Congress chief Kamal Nath as Lord Krishna.

The video pertains to the act of Cheer-Haran (disrobing of Draupadi) of the Pandav queen Draupadi by Dushasan before helpless Pandavas and laughing Kauravas in the court of Kaurav king Dhritarashtra. In the 1.18 minutes morphed video of the Draupadi Cheer-Haran episode, the MP CM is shown as Dushasan trying to disrobe Draupadi before laughing Kauravas. Senior BJP leaders, among them party national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya, Bhopal mayor Alok Sharma, MP parliamentary affairs and public relations minister Narottam Mishra are shown as laughing Kauravas in the morphed video.

In the same morphed video, MPCC chief Kamal Nath is shown as Lord Krishna acting as saviour to the troubled Pandava queen.

Taking strong objection to the video, the ruling BJP has complained about the matter to the Election Commission. Confirming about having received the complaint about the morphed video recently, the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Madhya Pradesh, VL Kantha Rao said on Monday that "we've directed the state police to probe the entire video and act in the matter."

This isn't the first time that a spoof video has gone viral over social media, as earlier in May this year, a similar spoof video showing the CM as Angad (a prime warrior of Lord Ram's monkey army) and MP Congress chief Kamal Nath as demon king Ravana was doing rounds of the social media. A few months later, many other spoof videos, containing morphed visuals of the CM and other BJP leaders, besides senior Congress leaders, including Kamal Nath had gone viral over social media. The spoof videos were made by unknown people (possibly Congress and BJP supporters) by morphing the original videos of Bollywood hits Bahubali and Singham and Hollywood flick Avengers.
