SPO injured in militant attack in J&K's Budgam

A search operation has been launched in the area to nab the attackers.

SRINAGAR: A Special Police Officer (SPO) was injured by unidentified militants in central Kashmir district of Budgam late on Saturday night.

Official sources said that unidentified militants barged into the residence of SPO Mohammad Hafiz at Chravani, Charar-e-Sharief late on Saturday night.

"The militants fired at Hafiz, resulting in injury to his leg," they said.

The injured was immediately taken to a local hospital from where he was referred to a hospital in Srinagar.

They said militants managed to escape from the spot after the attack on Hafiz, who works in the office of Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Charar-e-Sharief.

A search operation has been launched in the area to nab the attackers.
