NEW DELHI: Amid the communication blackout and restrictions on movement in J&K, National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval reached out to locals and security forces in the valley. Several videos of Doval’s interaction with people in Kashmir emerged on social media on Wednesday, a day after Doval reached Kashmir to review the security situation and gauge public mood. The same day the Centre revoked the provisions of Article 370, which gave special autonomous status to Jammu and Kashmir.

In one of the videos, Doval is seen eating food with a group of five-six locals. “Everything will be alright. Your safety and security is our responsibility,” Doval told people reportedly in Shopian district.
“Your children and their children will continue to live here. They will make their name in the world,” the

NSA is heard telling people. In one video, he is seen meeting people in the J&K police and is heard praising their role in containing the situation in the state for the past several years. “It is one of the best police forces. It has a special place for us,” Doval told the policemen.

Later, videos of Doval, flanked by DGP, J&K, Dilbagh Singh, interacting with locals and policemen went viral on social media. Doval also interacted BSF personnel and CRPF and praised them for serving the nation. “You have served the people wherever required, be it Kashmir or Naxal areas. I became part of the IPS in 1968 when most of you’ll were not even born. And I want to salute your courage, dedication and discipline,” Doval is heard telling a group of CRPF troopers.
