KALABURAGI: "Who is Adani and what work did he have to interfere in politics?" asked AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge on Thursday.

Speaking with press persons at his residence in Kalaburagi, Kharge said Adani is interfering in Maharashtra politics, and the Prime Minister is supporting him.

“The government has to support small and medium-scale industries as the maximum number of people would get employment in these industries. However, the NDA government is supporting corporate houses to run large-scale industries and receives direct and indirect donations from them. That is why people like Adani interfere in politics,” Kharge observed.

To a question on the statement of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath regarding the 'Reservation' issue, the AICC President asked, “Who are they to speak about Reservation? The Constitution itself has given the right of Reservation; nobody can alter it or change it.”

Kharge said that BJP and RSS have repeatedly stated that they would not accept the Constitution and the Tiranga flag.

“The Congress party gives preference to the welfare of the people and implements policies that are beneficial to them. The implementation of the guarantees given during the Karnataka Assembly Elections is a testament to the commitment of the Congress Party,” Kharge said.

He added, “The implementation of the guarantees in Karnataka is the model for the Congress Party to show other poll-bound states our commitment.”

“The people know that the BJP gives importance to religion-based politics and tries to appease people on the basis of religion, but we are against it,” he said.

Mallikarjun Kharge stated that he and senior leaders of the Congress Party had already toured Maharashtra and Jharkhand, and the response from the people had been encouraging.

“I am visiting a few places in Maharashtra today and a few places in Jharkhand on Friday. Again, on Saturday, I will continue the campaign in other places,” he said.

Kharge visited the house of Congress Party leader Basavaraj Bhimalli on Thursday and expressed his condolences on the death of Shakuntala Bhimalli a few days ago in Kalaburagi.
