BERHAMPUR: The HoD of Chemistry department in Taratareni College at Purushottampur was arrested for allegedly posting lewd messages on the Facebook wall of a girl student.The HoD, Janardhan Sahu of Badarampalli village under Rambha police limits last week posted lewd messages on the Facebook page of a Plus Three student. On Monday, the girl’s father detained Sahu at Ratha Street in Purusotompur and questioned him about the messages. Soon, an heated exchange took place between them and locals gathered at the spot. Police rushed to the spot and arrested the lecturer.
Man, son killed in mishap
A man and his son died in an accident on NH-59 at Jahirapali under Dharakote police limits on Monday. The two, Ranka Patra (65) and Nilakantha (28) were going on a motorcycle from Dengadi village to Soroda when the two-wheeler collided head-on with a tractor. The locals brought them to Aska hospital,but the doctors declared both of them dead. Police have registered a case.
