Surgical strike by a rape victim

A girl in Kerala has resorted to a surgical strike to teach, of all persons, a godman an unforgettable lesson. Like in the case of all such strikes, the girl, a law student, was not fully successful in dismembering his vital organ with which he had been attacking her since her school days.

He suffered only 90 per cent cut, but her brave act has been applauded by political leaders, including Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and former Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan.
Indeed, all those who value the integrity and freedom of our womenfolk are bound to cheer the girl for her audacious act of snatching a knife from her abuser who threatened to kill her if she did not cooperate with him on the fateful night the other day.

She used the weapon strategically to hit a specified target and destroy his arsenal very much like what the Indian Army did during its surgical strike on the terrorist camps across the Indian border.
Similar strikes have happened in different fields, including economic, but it may be for the first time that it has been used effectively in the sexual sphere in the state. The BJP-led government can take the entire credit for it, if it wishes.

If at least a few more rape victims take cue from the law student, the would-be rapists would no doubt think twice before they engage in any misadventure. But there has to be clear planning on the side of the girls so that they don’t miss the intended target.

Precision and a sense of timing are of utmost importance because collateral damage would be misinterpreted and the abuser may go scot-free.In fact, Kerala was waiting to hear of some such drastic action by the women as they seemed incapable of defending themselves against the growing number of attackers and the police had no clue how to deal with them.

Now the policemen can heave a sigh of relief that the women themselves may take off much of the pressure on them borne out of their inaction. The chief minister himself has given his nod to the girls to take up arms, and they need not fear any longer to find the final solution.

The powerless godman, of course, can abandon all worldly thoughts of pleasures and spend the rest of his life in meditation and penance for the wrongs he has committed.
