Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad talks about Congress, the party’s work, Rajiv Gandhi, Sanjay Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi with The New Indian Express Editorial Director Prabhu Chawla on Teekhi Baat on IBN7. Excerpts:

It seems people want to make Congress lose this time.

If you see democracies all over the world, we are among the oldest democracies, like Britain and America. Does any government run there for more than 10 years? People want change after five to 10 years. Due to Sonia Gandhiji and Manmohan Singhji’s leadership, a minority government ran for 10 years.

No, it is our victory that we have taken so many programmes never taken before in UPA1 and UPA 2. But I have said on party forum that opposition parties are hero in publicity and zero in work and we are hero in work and zero in publicity. We were unsuccessful in taking our message to people.

Negative news is against everybody — Modi, Congress and everybody. TV channels gave time to your leader to speak.

But did the television channel ask what good work the government has done in UPA1 and UPA 2? When he said he wants to talk of achievement, he was asked the question on 1984.
