Hyderabad, Nov 13 (PTI) The farmers coordinationcommittees being set up by the Telangana government are aimedat organising cultivators towards their welfare, ChiefMinister K Chandrasekhar Rao told the assembly today.
The government would provide financial assistance toagriculturists towards farming investment, he said.
The opposition parties should give constructivesuggestions and not oppose when something good is done, hesaid.
"Has anyone in this country thought of giving Rs 8,000investment for farmers?... Has anyone proposed?... Why cannotthey appreciate when something is good is initiated," he saidin the legislative assembly during a debate.
"(Through) Rythu Samanvaya Samithi (farmerscoordination committees), first time we are bringing them intoan organised format. Let them come into that. We said we willgive investment from next year. Let's give. You say somethingconstructive. We will take (further action)," Rao said.
TRS activists would be part of these committees, hesaid.
Those who sincerely fulfil the government's objectiveswould be appointed to the committees, the CM said.
He alleged that the petitions filed in courts againstirrigation projects being implemented by the state governmentare motivated.
During the debate, the opposition members talked aboutalleged shortcomings in the various agriculture policies ofthe TRS government. PTI SJRRSY.
