Chennai, Oct 14 (PTI) Chennaiyin FC today announced thesigning of Tony Warner as their goalkeeping coach for the2017-18 campaign of the Hero Indian Super League.

Warner, 43, joins head coach John Gregory's coachingstaff which already includes assistant coaches Mark Lillis andSyed Sabir Pasha and sports scientist Niall Clark.

The former goalkeeper had a playing career spanning morethan two decades with the majority of it having spent inEnglish football.

He has had spells at Liverpol, Hull City and Fulham andplayed over 200 league games for Millwall, having also reachedthe FA Cup final with them in 2004.He also representedTrinidad and Tobago at international level.

Outside England, he also had stints with New Zealand'sWellington Phoenix in Australia's A-League and Floriana FC inMalta. As a goalkeeping coach he has worked at BoltonWanderers in the past.

"I am delighted to have joined Chennaiyin's coachingstaff and grateful to the club and John Gregory for giving methis opportunity. I have already enjoyed working with thekeepers here and look forward to help them develop and have agreat season ahead," Warner said from Chennaiyin's pre-seasontraining base in Hua Hin, Thailand.
