The Delhi Police said it will be keeping a strict vigil at the Tikri, Singhu, and Ghazipur borders, as well as railway and metro stations and bus stands.
Haryana police initially stopped the march by offering farmers tea and biscuits and showering them with flower petals. The protesters pushed on, calling it "drama," as teargas and water jets followed.
The leaders said that the farmers wanted to pose questions to PM Narendra Modi during his Patiala visit on Thursday and if they are not given access, they will hold a dharna.
They said the existing 'morchas' of farmers at the Shambhu and Khanauri borders will be strengthened and farmers will also hold a sit-in protest in Dabwali in support of their demands.
