Official sources said the mechanised fishing boat, owned by M Thennarasu of Rameswaram and carrying 10 fishermen, ventured into the sea on Monday night.
Fishermen’s associations expressed condemnation over the continuing arrests and urged the Central Government to engage with the Sri Lankan Government to address the prolonged issue.
After an inquiry at a Sri Lankan navy camp, the three, along with the boat, were handed over to the Jaffna Fisheries Department at the Mailady fishing harbour.
