KB Arun Karthick’s 162 and youngster B Indrajith’s 95 propelled TNCA President’s XI to a challenging total of 396 for 9 in 100 overs against Hyderabad on the first day of the quarterfinals of the Kalpathi-Buchi Babu All India Invitation cricket tournament at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Sunday.

Brief scores (quarterfinals): At Pachaiyappa’s: Karnataka 230 in 74 overs (J Suchith 71 n.o, Abhimanyu Mithun 45, Kuldeep Yadav 5-114, Saurabh Kumar 3-58) vs UPCA 118 for 2 in 36 overs (Tanmay Srivastava 54, Mohammad Kaif 55 batting).

At IC–Guru Nanak: TNCA XI 261 in 96.3 overs (K Bharath Shankar 40, M Kaushik Gandhi 44, V Maaruthi Raghav 74, R Ashwin 60, GVS Prasad 4-49,  K Bharat Reddy 3-48) vs Andhra 20 for two in 10 overs (R Ashwin 2-6).

At Murugappa: Haryana 352 for 9 in 100 overs (Abhimanyu Khod 89, Sunny Singh 65, Rahul Dalal 57, Ajay Jadeja 45 n.o., Amit Mishra 30, Prashant Parameswaran 3-52, P Prashanth 2-55, Vinoop Manoharan 2-95) vs Kerala 12 for no loss in three overs.
