N Jaisal Makwana 4 for 28, Yak Sharath Sreekanth 5 for 22 helped Don Bosco ‘A’ Egmore bag a lead of 124 over Santhome A in the drawn match of the final of the TNCA City Schools U-14 tournament for B Somasundaram Trophy.

Don Bosco were 111 for 7 in 82 overs in their second essay when play ended. Don Bosco were adjudged winners by virtue of their first innings lead.

Brief scores: Don Bosco MHSS ‘A’, Egmore (Ch-8)186 for 9 in 90 overs (B Ashwin 37, M Leo Sachin 66, AH Mohamed Suhail 4/48) and 111 for 7 in 82 overs (F Sachin Kumar 31 not out, A Barooah 4/46) drew with Santhome HSS ‘A’, Mylapore (Ch-4) 62 in 25.2 overs (N Jaisal Makwana 4/28, Y Sreekanth 5/22).

Vishal to lead

K Vishal Vaidhya was named captain of the TN u-16 team that will play against MPCA in the quarters of the Vijay Merchant All-India knock-out meet to be held from Jan 9 to 12 at New Delhi.
