Rovers set up title clash with Vijay

Jolly Rovers will meet Vijay CC in the final of the Senior Division League of the TNCA after  drawing their respective semifinals matches here on Friday.

Vijay CC’s skipper S Suresh Kumar’s unbeaten century (113 no, 143b, 10x4, 4x6) was the feature of the drawm match against Youngstars at Vivekananda College grounds. Resuming from their overnight score of 266 for 3 Vijay CC declared at 445 for 5 in 113 overs. at RKM Vivekannda College Grounds Vijay CC versus Young Stars CC Suresh and Rohan Prem (79; 17b, 8x4, 1x6)  added 88 runs for the fourth wicket in 19.2 overs. Suresh was also involved in a 95-run stand for the fifth wicket in 16 overs with Vasudeva Das (38).

The match was called off at lunch and by virtue of the 164 runs lead Vijay CC qualified for the final. In the other semis at SRMC, Jolly Rovers dismissed Globe Trotters for 140 in their first essay. Opener K Mukunth 41 not out (192b, 7x4, 276mts) carried the bat for Trotters. J Kaushik picked up three wickets, while Syed, Parameshwaran, Prashanth K Varma  bagged two wickets. Jolly Rovers were 57 for no loss in 17 overs in their second essay. Rovers by virtue of its 336 runs first innings lead Jolly Rovers are qualified for final.

At Viveka: Young Stars CC 281 in 104.4 overs drew with Vijay CC 445 for 5 decl. in 113 overs (KB Arun  Karthick 90, M Kaushik Gandhi 78, Rohan Prem 79, S Suresh Kumar 113 no, K Shri Vasudeva Das 38, V Subramania Siva 3/87).

At SRMC: Jolly Rovers CC 476 in 129 overs and 57 no loss 17 overs (Anand Subramanian 34 no, R Nilesh Subramanian 21 no) drew with Globe Trotters SC 140 in 63.1 overs (R D Ashwin Kumar 29, S Thilak 31, K Mukunth 41 no, J Kaushik 3/28, Prashanth Parameswaran 2/30, J Syed 2/33, Prashant K Varma 2/48).
