Alexandrov downs Dmitry; Vaishali stuns Ziaur

 Top-seed and GM Alexei Alexandrov of Belarus shared the lead with four points after the fourth round in the Chennai Super Kings 5th International GM chess tournament at Nehru Stadium on Thursday.
 Sharing the lead on four points with Alexandrov were GMs Deviatkin Andrei (Russia), Marat Dzhumaev (Uzbekistan), Lu Shanglei (China), Teske Henrik (Germany) and IM R Prasanna Raghuram (India) among others.
 Alexandrov showed superior middle-game play to outclass Uzbek GM Dmitry Kayumov, while second-seeded Deviatkin (Russia) handled IM Shivananda’s unorthodox play with elan to clinch the full point.
 The third board game between GM Adhiban and IM Shyam Nikil ended in a 25- move draw.
 In upsets of the day, National U-11 & 13 champion R Vaishali scored an exciting win over GM Ziaur Rahman, while 14-year-old Chennailad B Kumaran overcame IM K Rathnakaran.
 In the longest game of the day, WGMr Padmini Rout upset fellow-GM S P Sethuraman.
 The marathon 4-hour encounter lasted 147 moves.
