SRM edge SSN to emerge Champs

Beating SSN College by two runs, SRM University claimed the Sairam Trophy State-level inter-collegiate cricket Tournament organized by Sri Sairam Engineering College here recently. In the final, SRM won the toss and batted first, racking up 138 for eight in the stipulated 20 overs, courtesy Aashish Kumar’s unbeaten 55.

Chasing the modest target, SSN regularly lost wickets, and despite a resolute 49 by Nilesh Subramaniyan, SRM scampered home by two runs. Bharat Shankar snared four wickets for 22 runs.

Aashish Kumar was adjudged man of the match while Jerusalem College’s Varun Kumar was deemed man of the series.
