Legend Holds All the Aces

NEW DELHI: The second day of the Indian leg of the IPTL began with a bang as Roger Federer thrilled the crowd in a starring role for Indian Aces. Under his three-match involvement, Aces trumped Singapore Slammers 26-16.

Pete Sampras got a rousing welcome, but the  14-time Grand Slam winner slumped to a 2-6 loss against Patrick Rafter. Thereafter, the Federer Show took centrestage. He partnered Sania Mirza to overwhelm Daniela Hantuchova and Treat Huey/Nick Kyrgios 6-0, then joined Rohan Bopanna to trounce Kyrgios and Lleyton Hewitt 6-1 and finally pipped Tomas Berdych 6-4. Ana Ivanovic then won in a thrilling shootout versus Hantuchova. 

In the second tie, Manila Mavericks defeated UAE Royals 27-24, despite the surprise appearance of Novak Djokovic in doubles.
