CHENNAI:  Armaan Ebrahim and teammate Dilantha Malagam dominated the second race of the Lamborghini Trofeo Series in Fuji in Japan, driving to victory after starting fifth on the grid.

Armaan took the start and steadily moved up the ladder on a wet track. Twenty minutes into the race, he took the lead after passing Japan’s Yudai Uchida and Davide Rizzo of Italy and built a sizeable lead before handing over the car to Dilantha who kept the lead for a well deserved victory.

In Race 1 on Saturday, Armaan had a big setback during the pit stop when the wheel nut got jammed during the tyre change which put them back to 12th from running in third place. The pair fought back to finish fifth overall.

“It’s great to take a win and though I have been getting several podiums in the last couple of  years an overall first place was eluding me. It was a tough weekend as our car was delivered only on the Tuesday of the race weekend. We were further hampered when our race engineer took unwell and couldn’t make it for the race,” said Armaan.
