CHENNAI: Indian Super League champions Chennaiyin FC have announced the signing of Jamaican international goalkeeper Duwayne Kerr. The 29-year-old has represented the Jamaican national team regularly since making his debut in 2007, and also played in the 2015 Copa America tournament.
He was also in the squad for the 2016 edition, and played in an international friendly, prior to the tournament, in which Jamaica defeated eventual champions Chile. “Duwayne is a quality goalkeeper with plenty of experience in Europe and the international level. He will have a very important role in our title defence,” said Chennaiyin manager Marco Materazzi.
“I would like to thank coach Materazzi and the owners for giving me this opportunity at Chennaiyin FC. I am really looking forward to start a new chapter of my career in India, and hope to help Chennaiyin keep the trophy,” Kerr stated.
