South Africa has called up allrounder RyanMcLaren as cover for injured pair Jacques Kallis and Vernon Philander, who areboth doubts for the crucial third test against Australia.
The visitors will likely have to win that final match tosave the series with Australia in a commanding position heading into the finalday of the second test in Adelaide.
Cricket South Africa says McLaren, who has played just onetest in 2010, will leave for Australia on Monday.
The injury-hit Proteas lost seam bowler Philander justbefore the start of the Adelaide test with back spasms. Allrounder Kallisinjured a hamstring while bowling.
Kallis almost certainly will be needed to bat in Adelaide onMonday, possibly aggravating his injury further ahead of the Perth test, whichstarts on Friday.
