Hooda Slams 2nd Century

MYSORE: Nineteen-year-old Deepak Jagbir Hooda of Baroda slammed his second first class century to put Baroda in a strong position on the opening day of their Group A Ranji Trophy tie against holders Karnataka at the Gangotri Glades on Wednesday.

Hooda made a patient 142 to resurrect Baroda’s innings after half the side had fallen for 93 runs. Hooda surpassed his previous best of 114 in the process.

It was a commendable effort as he came in at No 6 and was involved in very useful partnerships to steer Baroda to safety. The were 320 for 8 at close. He batted for 272 minutes, facing 194 deliveries and hammered 13 fours and six sixes.
