Pune, Delhi and Vizag to Host T20s Against Lanka

NEW DELHI: Before hosting important games of World T20 in March-April, Delhi’s Feroz Shah Kotla stage a T20 between India and Sri Lanka on February 12. The series features three matches. The first one in Pune on February 9 and the last in Visakhapatnam on February 14.

Officials are hopeful of Delhi hosting the match without any problem. “There shouldn’t be any trouble for DDCA. This will also give people of Delhi a chance to witness an international match,” a BCCI official told Express on Wednesday.

Delhi hosting matches became national headline before the South Africa Test in December. The match was conducted by a court-appointed panel headed by Justice Mukul Mudgal, who has slammed DDCA in a recent report to the court.

“It will be a good opportunity for young players to prove mettle before the important tournament. It will also help the selectors get a clearer picture about the team,” a senior BCCI official told Express. “This will help the team management finalise plans and strategy,” the official added.
